Good morning, Flagstaff! We had a couple mistakes on dates in last Friday’s newsletter and I’m so sorry I didn’t catch those. End of the school year with a senior seems to be melting my brain 🥴. AROUND TOWN
🔥Stage 1 Fire Restrictions begin May 21st, which means no smoking or e-cigs in city limits, no fireworks, no charcoal and wood-fired BBQs and no firepits.
📝The county is asking for public feedback on its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan through May 31st. The plan identifies natural hazards that pose risks to communities across Coconino County and outlines strategies to reduce long-term vulnerability to those hazards.
🗿The third annual Multicultural County Park Sculpture Exhibition opens today, May 19th at 10am at Elizabeth “Liz” C. Archuleta County Park (often called Sawmill Park). City and County officials and participating artists will share welcome remarks. Stop by the park to check out the new sculptures and experience the storybook pathway and wildflower maze.

👖Highstyle FLG had a ribbon cutting May 6th for its adorable new location in a cottage at 209 N. Elden Street. They offer private shopping appointments for vintage styling, custom denim fittings, and more.
☕🥐Foxtail Coffee opened its doors recently in University Plaza, combining the former frozen yogurt joint and temp staffing buildings. They specialize in cold brew, croissants and gelato. Operations Manager Donya previously ran Brewed Awakenings in Williams.
🧸 Pop-culture gift shop BoxLunch is new at the Flagstaff Mall, offering apparel and collectibles, with a portion of proceeds providing meals to those in need. They have several locations in the Valley.

🧶 Only a couple more days to register for Flagstaff Wool & Fiber Festival Workshops! Sign up by May 22nd to learn things like Amigurumi crochet, stick weaving or the Japanese hand-embroidery art of Temari.
🌹🎭Life Sucks opens May 21st at Theatrikos and runs Thurs-Sun through June 7th. The dark comedy is a brash and hilarious contemporary take on Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, wrestling with life’s big questions: love, longing, purpose, and the gnawing dread that nothing really matters. Tickets start at $25.
🐕🏃 Register for the 8th Annual Flagstaff Doggie Dash and Buffaloops Ultra at Buffalo Park the morning of May 24th. Runners can run with their dogs or run solo. There is also a free kids' 1K. Shirts, merch and professional photos included. Some proceeds go to High Country Humane.
