⛱🚲 September 18th is Park(ing) Day! This global event exists to spark imagination about possibilities for our public spaces. Here in Flagstaff, our Strong Towns group is transforming Aspen Ave in downtown - setting up parklets, exhibits, kids' crafts, and toddler play areas. Have fun with the whole family! 12-7pm
💸 Flagstaff’s minimum wage will increase to $18.95 per hour in 2027, in accordance with the 2023 cost of living vote. That is 60 cents up from $18.35 in 2026.

🌮 Iconic Flagstaff Mexican restaurant Salsa Brava closed its doors September 12th after 40 years. John Conley, who also runs Fat Olives and Fat Bagels, teased that they’re currently constructing a new business in the space!

👑🎭 FlagShakes is performing A Room in the Castle select dates Sept 18th through Oct 3rd. The play reframes the women in Shakespeare’s Hamlet into a bold, heartbreaking, and unexpectedly funny drama filled with resilience and hope.
🎇 Southwest Flow Festival is celebrating its 5th year in Flagstaff Sept 18-20th. Enjoy 48 hours of poi, dragon staff, rope dart, juggling, hoop, fans and more.
🪕 Pickin in the Pines Bluegrass Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Sept 18th-20th at Fort Tuthill. Enjoy a weekend of music, workshops and dance.
🎭✍🏻 Northern Arizona Playwriting Showcase’s Play Contest is open through Oct 1st. Submit a script for a 10-minute play. Seven winners will have their play dramatically read in November.
